Instruction and management
INSTRUCTION:
I believe that instruction in the art classroom should:
-Be clear, concise, and within students capabilities
-Communicate the non-negotiable aspects of classroom activity
- Leave room for student’s independent exploration of creativity
-Provide to students the learning objective of the lesson
-Be altered and adjusted as needed to meet the needs of every individual student
-Make learning meaningful and relevant to students
MANAGEMENT:
I believe the art classroom should be managed to:
-Create a safe environment for student self expression
-Allow each student to feel heard and appreciated
-Encourage collaborative learning through effective communication
-Support the individual needs of every student
-Establish meaningful relationships between teacher and student
-Facilitate creative thought and artistic experimentation
